2024 CHEVRON CHAMPIONSHIP

Major Championships Require Major Content

Earlier this year, Golf Space was tapped to manage all content for the LPGA’s first Major Championship of the year, The Chevron Championship. With Nelly Korda pursuing a record 5th consecutive victory, we knew the week would garner a lot of eyeballs and that we needed to elevate the tournament brand to match the interest. When it comes to game-planning content for a Major Championship, everyone has to be on the same page to bring the vision to life.

Our vision for The 2024 Chevron Championship was to elevate the look and feel of every single piece of content published. We wanted to be articulate in each detail - the captions, audio, and visuals. We wanted it to feel major.

One of the main ways we do this is creating a unique point-of-view and tone for tournament week that contrasts to the offseason.

Throughout the year, The Chevron Championship’s tone of voice on social media is more lighthearted and bright. During tournament week, we turned to a more serious and direct tone to tell the story of the highs and lows of a Major Championship.

The reels created for Instagram and Meta featured cinematic music to reflect the intensity of the week. When looking at the @thechevronchampionship profile on Instagram you will notice the grid is cohesive with darker blues and greens colors. The darker colors further enhanced the Major Championship vibe.

The most important part of major content planning? Being intentional about your creative outputs and making sure everything that gets published aligns with that brand vision. Our vision and work with our client led to one of the most successful weeks in LPGA tournament content history, all while maintaining that major feel.

You might remember from the last edition of Swing Thoughts, the "classic golf shoe" style is making a resurgence in the PUMA AVANT line. This week it’s the OG, Footjoy. Featured here is the recent release of the FJ X Jon Buscemi Premiere Series which is offered in two styles.

The “Wilcox” is shown in the pics and wow are they SHARP! This limited-release shoe is currently sold out and was going for $350 on Footjoy.com. Check secondary markets like StockX and eBay to find a pair if you have a budget.
